Gophers Place Sixth at Florida State Match Up

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Senior Emie Peronnin recorded a top-20 finish to lead the Minnesota women's golf team to a sixth-place finish at the Florida State Match Up's final round Sunday. The Gophers (289-292-300-881) ended the tournament at 17-over-par.
Peronnin (73-72-72-217) carded back-to-back even par rounds to finish among a tie for 17th at one-over. Two shots back was junior Sabrine Garrison (74-73-72-219) who had her lowest round of the tournament as she tied for 22nd.
Classmate Heather Ciskowski (71-75-78-224) was tied for 39th, while sophomore Maggie Heggerston finished 64th (80-81-78-239). Sophomore Muyu Wu shot 78 on Sunday, but was disqualified after signing for an incorrect score.
Individual competitior Niamh Ward also had her best round Sunday, as the sophomore placed 63rd (81-79-78-238).
Florida State won the tournament with a team score of 837, with the Seminoles also winning medalist honors behind Morgane Metraux's 11-under-par score of 205.
The Gophers will return to action in less than three weeks, heading back to Florida to compete in the Hurricane Invitational at the Biltmore Golf Club in Coral Gables from February 27-March 1.
