MINNEAPOLIS (GopherSports.com) - The University of Minnesota men's track & field program claimed 10 event titles at the Snowshoe Open on Friday night as the Maroon & Gold closed out the 2017 home schedule.
"It was great to see a lot of wins and a lot of personal records in our last home meet of the year," Minnesota Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Steve Plasencia said. "We were looking for guys to step up and earn a spot on our Big Ten team, and for the most part, we were pleased with the result tonight."
Competing at the University of Minnesota Fieldhouse, All-American Ryan Lockard added another title to his trophy case with a win in the high jump on Friday night. Lockard edged teammate Nick Bachinski for the victory - both Gophers cleared 2.10 meters (6-10.75 ft.).

Unattached freshman Chris Trotter ran 1:19.18 to win the 600 meters on Friday night, marking the second-straight year that the Maroon & Gold have broken the Snowshoe Open record in the event. Trotter's victory was one of three on the night by Gophers unattached freshman. Hamza Ali picked up the 3,000 meter title at 8:21.57 to best teammate Owen Hoeft at 8:23.55.
