Gophers Sweep Bulldog Classic

The No. 12/11 University of Minnesota Gophers move to 14-0 after a 12-2 victory in five innings over Idaho State this afternoon.
Maddie Houlihan went 3-4 with three RBIs and Kendyl Lindaman recorded four RBIs as the offense rolled to their fourth run-rule victory of the season. Tori Finucane went four innings in the circle picking up her second win of the season. She only allowed two hits and two earned runs while striking out four batters.
The Maroon and Gold scored their first run of the game with Danielle Parlich crossing home on an error.
Houlihan sparked a big second inning with a two-RBI double to center with two outs on the board. Lindaman, MaKenna Partain, Sydney Dwyer and Sara Groenewegen all followed with singles with Lindaman and Groenewegen each notching two RBIs.
The Gophers put up four more runs in the third inning capped off by a Lindaman double down the left field line for another two RBIs.
The final Gophers run came in the form of another Houlihan RBI single as she placed it to left. She scored Kaylen Krueger who led off the inning with a pinch hit double.
Houlihan, Lindaman, Parlich, Dwyer and Groenewegen all had multiple hit games. Finucane is now 2-0 with a 3.33 ERA and 15 strikeouts on the season after the victory. Kendal Judge pitched the final inning and did not allow a hit.
Minnesota heads to Baton Rouge, La. for their fourth tournament of the season next weekend. They will play Troy, FAU, LSU and Illinois State.
