For the third consecutive year, the combination of Yu Zhou and Wenbo Chen has earned top Big Ten honors. Zhou was named Big Ten Women's Diver of the Year, while Chen was named Big Ten Women's Diving Coach of the Year.

Zhou won Big Ten Diver of the Year and Big Ten Diver of the Championships all three years she was at Minnesota. Last week, the Wuhan, China, native claimed her second NCAA title on the 3-meter board and placed fourth in 1-meter.

Zhou collected seven All-America honors over the course of her career. She finished in the top five of all seven of those events. Her Big Ten Diver of the Year award is the fifth earned by a Gopher.

Zhou won both the 1-meter and 3-meter titles at the 2017 Big Ten Championships. She concluded her career with seven Big Ten titles.

Chen has been named Big Ten Women's Diving Coach of the Year six times in his career, including five times at Minnesota. This season he guided the Gophers to seven All-America awards in as many events. He was named CSCAA Diving Coach of the Year, and senior Lexi Tenenbaum was named CSCAA Diver of the Year after earning All-America recognition in all three events.

Chen oversaw Zhou's championship in 3-meter and freshman Sarah Bacon's runner-up finish in 1-meter. Only one of Minnesota's seven scoring performances was in a consolation final.

At the Big Ten Championships, Minnesota diving earned two gold and two bronze medals. Four Gophers scored on each springboard, and five scored on the platform.
