Minnesota was tied for sixth when darkness suspended the second round of the Tiger Invitational on Sunday. Justin Doeden had been near the top of the leaderboard all day and is in second at 8 under through 30 holes of play.
The tournament, hosted by Auburn at Grand National, was originally scheduled for three days but is being condensed into two due to Tuesday's weather forecast.
Doeden carded a 5-under, bogey-free 67 in the morning round, tied for third and two shots off the lead. He had five birdies and two bogeys in the first 12 holes of his second round and is one shot behind UNCW's Thomas Eldridge, who is also through 12.
Riley Johnson is tied for 19th with a 70 in the first round and a 1-over second round so far. After a first-round 79 Rúnar Arnorsson surged in the afternoon, making four birdies and no bogeys in his first 12 holes of the second round. He is tied for 48th.
Thomas Longbella and William Leaf round out the Gophers' lineup, in ties for 77th and 90th. Longbella's 77 in the first round counted for the team score.
Auburn is currently leading its home tournament at 9 under, with its players through 6-9 holes in the second round.
The second round will resume at 7:45 a.m. Monday, and the final round will start at approximately 11:30 in shotgun fashion.
