Gophers Officially Selected for NCAA Championships

No. 5 Minnesota has officially advanced to the 2017 NCAA Men's Gymnastics Championships for the 16th-straight year, announced Tuesday by the NCAA Men's Gymnastics Committee.

The championship meet will take place April 21-22 at Christl Arena in West Point, N.Y. and will feature the nation's top-12 teams along with individual and all-around competitors from non-qualifiying programs.

The championships qualifier, which consists of two pre-qualifying sessions, will be on Friday, April 21. The top three teams, top three all-around competitors from non-advancing teams, along with the top three individuals on each event not qualified on a team or as an all around competitor will advance to the finals session on Saturday, April 22.

Last season, Minnesota qualified for team finals for the first time in nine years and placed sixth overall. Each All-American from 2016 has returned. Zach Liebler earned two All-America honors on vault and floor, while Joel Gagnon and Justin Karstadt were also earned All-America status on floor and pommel horse, respectively.
