April 12, 2017 Minneapolis, Minn. - Men's Gymnastics heads to NCAA Championships while softball continues to roll in this week's polls. Tickets for all upcoming home events are available by visiting mygophersports.com.
Men's Gymnastics - #5
Last Week: The University of Minnesota earned gold, silver and bronze during the individual event finals at the 2017 Big Ten Men's Gymnastics Championships on Saturday night at the State Farm Center. The effort was led by junior captain Alex Wittenberg, who was named the Big Ten Champion on floor exercise.
Coming Up: The championships qualifier, which consists of two pre-qualifying sessions, will be on Friday, April 21. The top three teams, top three all-around competitors from non-advancing teams, along with the top three individuals on each event not qualified on a team or as an all-around competitor will advance to the finals session on Saturday, April 22.
Softball - #6
Last Week: The University of Minnesota Gophers took two run-rule victories over the Indiana Hoosiers this afternoon in front of a sellout crowd. They have now won all three conference series played and have two B1G sweeps. They are 35-3 and 8-1 in the Big Ten.
This Week: The Gophers stay home for a B1G series against Northwestern next weekend. First pitch on Friday is set for 6 p.m.
Receiving votes: Baseball is receiving votes in the USA Today Coaches' Poll.
