Minneapolis, Minn. - The University of Minnesota travels to Bloomington, Ind. to take on the Indiana Hoosiers for a three-game series.

The Gophers enter the Big Ten series riding an 11-game winning streaking after defeating North Dakota State 6-1 Tuesday and 6-0 in the conference after sweeping Ohio State and Michigan State.

The Maroon and Gold have a .282 batting average, led by Cole McDevitt (.389) and Luke Pettersen (.376). Minnesota has hit 14 home runs, four of which came from Jordan Smith. Toby Hanson leads the team with 24 RBIs and Alex Boxwell leads with seven stolen bases.

Lucas Gilbreath will start on the mound Friday as he boasts a 3-0 record along with a 2.78 ERA and 42 strikeouts in 35.2 innings pitched. Next on the bump will be Brett Schulze. The freshman has 3-2 record with 23 strikeouts and a 4.25 ERA while Toby Anderson is 4-2 with a 6.93 ERA and 14 strikeouts.

Brian Glowicki leads the bullpen with 11 saves and 22 strikeouts while promoting a 0.49 ERA. Tim Shannon has made 15 appearances where he has recorded one win with a 1.89 ERA and 14 strikeouts. The only other relief pitcher with double digit appearances is Nick Lackney with 11. He is 2-0 with a 2.12 ERA and 12 strikeouts.

About Indiana
The Hoosiers are 17-13-2 overall and 4-4-1 in the Big Ten. Indiana won the series over Northwestern then fell in both three-game series to Nebraska and Purdue. Tuesday night saw them defeat Indiana State 2-0.

As a team, Indiana has a .261 batting average which is led by Matt Lloyd's .314 average. Lloyd is tied for the team lead in RBIs (22) with Craig Dedelow. Dedelow also leads the team with eight home runs while Matt Gorski leads with six stolen bases.

John Stiever will throwing against the Gophers on Friday. He is 1-1 with a 4.71 ERA and 22 strike outs, this will be his first start of the season. Brian Hobbie will start the second game with a 2-3 record, a 4.86 ERA and 24 strikeouts in eight starts. The final starting pitcher is Pauly Milto who leads all starting pitchers with a 3.97 ERA to go with a 2-2 record and 22 strikeouts.

All-Time Series
The Gophers lead the All-Time series 105-45 with the last match up coming in 2016 when the Hoosiers took two games of a three-game series at Siebert Field. The lone Minnesota victory was by a score of 8-6.
