The University of Minnesota men's gymnastics program welcomes Henry Meeker of Minneapolis, Minn. to the Class of 2021. Meeker has signed an Acceptance of Admission, and will join the Gophers this fall.

"Henry has shown a great history of competitive success over the past several years in some of the biggest competitions he's been in," head coach Mike Burns said. "As he moves into this next phase of his training, I see him developing into a solid contributor for the Gophers. We're excited to have him join us next fall and to see him rekindle the Cooke Hall Meeker-mystique!"

Henry trains at Mini-Hops Gymnastics with his future Gopher teammate Shane Wiskus. He is a solid all-around competitor, with his stronger events including pommel horse, vault and parallel bars. Meeker attends Southwest High School and is an accomplished student, having received the USAG Academic All-State Award.

Henry follows in his father Brian Meeker's footsteps as a Golden Gopher gymnast. From 1979-1982 Brian was a six-time Big Ten Champion, winning two titles on all-around, two on floor, one on vault and one on high bar. He was also an All-American with the Gophers and was a member of the USA Gymnastics National Team.

Minnesota's incoming class now includes Meeker, Wiskus, Russell Johnson and Colton Dee.
