Gophers Through Two Rounds at Big Tens

MAINEVILLE, Ohio - Senior Emie Peronnin continued her outstanding play at the Big Ten Championships Saturday, matching her opening-round mark with a two-under-par 70 in the second round at TPC River's Bend. Peronnin remains tied for second among the field.
In the team standings, the Gophers (311-298-609) remained eighth following 36 holes of play.
At 4-under-par, Peronnin (70-70-140) is tied with Michigan's Elodie Van Dievoet. The duo trail Michigan State's Sarah Burnham, whose conference-record 63 Saturday helped her to a four-stroke lead.
The other Gophers all saw their scores lowered in the second round. Junior Sabrine Garrison moved into the top-20 as she is tied for 18th at 7-over-par (77-74-151). Classmate Heather Ciskowski is tied for 59th (81-79-160), with sophomore Niamh Ward among a tie for 75th (83-81-164).
Sophomore Muyu Wu was disqualified after signing for an incorrect score on Friday, but fired a 3-over-par 75 on Saturday and will continue to compete on Sunday.
Northwestern (288-285-573) remains atop the team leaderboard at 3-under-par.
The Big Ten Championships wrap up Sunday morning, with tee times scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. ET.
