Reedy, Knoepke Win Gold with USA Hockey

MINNEAPOLIS (GopherSports.com) – Signed Gopher Hockey prospects Scott Reedy and Nate Knoepke helped the U.S. National Under-18 Team win gold at the 2017 IIHF Under-18 Men’s World Championship this weekend in Poprad, Slovakia.
The U.S. topped Finland 4-2 on Sunday in the gold-medal game and has as now captured 14 consecutive medals including gold medals in seven of the last nine years.
Knoepke (a defenseman from Farmington, Minn.) and Reedy (a forward from Prior Lake, Minn.) played in all seven games for USA Hockey with Knoepke notching three assists and Reedy scoring a goal and adding an assist.
The pair of USNDTP alums previously earned gold medals with USA Hockey at the Under-18 Five Nations Tournament in 2017 and 2016 while also placing third at the Under-17 Five Nations Tournament in 2016 and 2015.
