Six Gophers Tabbed All-Big Ten

All-Big Ten Honors
Rosemont, Ill. - The University of Minnesota had six student-athletes earn All-Big Ten Honors Wednesday morning.
Catcher Cole McDevitt and left handed pitcher Lucas Gilbreath earned first team honors while third baseman Micah Coffey and closer Brian Glowicki were named to the second team, first baseman Toby Hanson was named to the third team and Jordan Kozicky was named to the All-Freshman team. Matt Stemper was named the recipient of Minnesota's Sportsmanship Award.
McDevitt had a .314 batting average in conference play and drove in 11 runs while hitting one home run. This is McDevitt's first Big Ten award of his collegiate career. Gilbreath was 4-1 in the Big Ten and posted a 1.76 ERA. The left hander also struck out 53 Big Ten opponents en route to his first conference honors.
Coffey posted a .370 batting average in conference play with an eight doubles, 15 runs scored, two home runs and 22 RBIs. He was named the conference player of the week May 8 after hitting for the cycle versus Penn State. Coffey was named All-Big Ten Second Team in 2016.
Glowicki currently ranks first in the NCAA and in the conference with 15 saves. He has picked up six of those saves in conference play while striking out 16 batters in 11.1 innings. Hanson earns his first conference honors after having a .283 in-conference batting average while hitting two home runs and driving in 24 RBIs. He leads the Gophers with 51 total RBIs this season.
Kozicky earns All-Freshman team honors after having a .351 batting average in the conference while scoring 19 runs, hitting three home runs and driving in 21 runs. He earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors May 17 after going 9-16 with a .632 on-base percentage during the week. Kozicky is currently on a 35-game on-base streak.
Stemper has a .264 batting average this season while driving in 26 RBIs and hitting five home runs, second most on the team. He earns the Sportsmanship award have earning Academic All-Big Ten honors the last three seasons.
