Lindaman Continues Making History

Kendyl Lindaman recorded one of the best seasons in Gopher softball history breaking five program single season record and has been named a 2017 Schutt Sports / NFCA Division I National Freshman of the Year top-3 finalist.
The Big Ten has never had a top-3 Freshman of the Year finalist in conference history. The award will be presented to the winner prior to the 2017 NCAA Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City, Okla., at the WCW banquet on May 30.
Lindaman was named both the Big Ten Player and Freshman of the Year and earned NFCA All-Region first-team honors. She collected a record breaking eight Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors. Lindaman led the Big Ten in home runs (20), slugging percentage (.899), RBI (tied-76), walks (63), on base percentage (.598) and batting average (.426).
The home runs, slugging percentage, RBI, walks and on base percentage were all school records. She is also third in the NCAA in on base percentage, tied for third in RBI, fourth in slugging percentage and seventh in home runs.
