Redman Finishes Second at Senior LPGA

Redman's Results from the Senior LPGA Championship
FRENCH LICK, Ind. - Before her career in college coaching began, Minnesota head women's golf coach Michele Redman was a standout player on the LPGA for many years. She has continued to compete and this past week, Redman wowed the field with a second-place finish at the inaugural Senior LPGA Championship.
Redman, an Indiana native, finished the three-day tournament at French Lick Resort at 1-under-par (73-69-73-215), three shots behind wire-to-wire leader and champion Trish Johnson.
"I'm happy, I wish I had two drives back, but other than that I played really well and hit some great shots," said Redman following the tournament. "It was great to see that I could still hit shots under pressure. It was also fun to play with Trish, I really enjoyed it."
The tournament, which was in its first year and broadcast live by the Golf Channel, allowed Redman to continue to gain on-course competitive experience which she believes translates well to her coaching career.
"I enjoyed playing and competing - it always helps me help the student-athletes," she explained. "It was fun to be in the position to win and feel the nerves."
Redman tallied more than 77 top-10 finishes and two victories during her 20-year career with the LPGA. She continues to play with the Legends Tour.
