Two home tournaments in the fall highlight the 2017-18 schedule for the Minnesota women's golf
team, which was announced Thursday.

"We are extremely excited to announce our upcoming schedule," said head coach Michele Redman. "For the first time, we're honored to host two events in the fall, both of which feature very strong fields. At home and on the road, we will have the opportunity to play some really great golf courses across the country, which will provide excellent tests for our team."

The Gophers will get a warm up to the season on Saturday, September 9, as they welcome Michigan State for a dual match in Wayzata.

Two days later, the action shifts across the metro where for the first time, the Gophers will host the annual Minnesota Invitational at Prestwick Golf Club in Woodbury. Joining the field alongside the Maroon & Gold will be fellow Big Ten members Michigan State, Purdue and Wisconsin, as well as Kansas, Kansas State, BYU, East Carolina, Georgia, USC, Virginia Tech, North Texas and Louisville.

In their first tournament out of state, the Gophers will travel to the Coeur d'Alene Collegiate Invitational in Idaho, hosted by Gonzaga. The two-day competition will take place September 26-27 at the Coeur d'Alene Resort, famous for its 14th hole island green, reachable by boat.

The following weekend, Minnesota will co-host the prestigious Annika Intercollegiate Presented by 3M at Olympic Hills Golf Club in Eden Prairie. In addition to the Gophers, 11 teams will take part in Stanford, UCLA, Florida State, Georgia, Furman, USC, South Carolina, Arkansas, Miami (Fla.), Baylor and Texas. All 11 schools listed finished the 2017 season ranked in the top 20 of the Golfweek Team Rankings.

The Gophers will conclude the fall schedule October 27-29, taking part in the Louisville Ladies Fall Invitational at the Atlanta Athletic Club. The historic club has hosted several notable championships over the years, including three PGA Championships (1981, 2001, 2011), the 1976 U.S. Open and 1990 U.S. Women's Open.

Returning to action the second weekend of February, the Gophers will travel to Tallahassee for the Florida State Match Up from February 9-11. Next up on the spring schedule is a trip to the Meadow Club in Fairfax, Calif., for the Meadow Club Ladies Intercollegiate, hosted by San Francisco and San Jose State on March 5 and 6.

The Gophers will close out their regular season with two return trips to the Clover Cup, hosted by Notre Dame at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz., from March 16-18. Just under one month later, Minnesota will take part in the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational at Ohio State University Golf Club in Columbus on April 14-15.

The 2018 Big Ten Championship returns to TPC River's Bend in Maineville, Ohio on April 20-22, with NCAA Regionals to follow May 7-9 and the NCAA Championship set for May 18-23 at Karsten Creek Golf Course in Stillwater, Okla.
