The Big Ten Conference office announced today that April Bockin is this past week's Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week after her one goal and five assists in two games.

Bockin's four assists in the 7-1 victory over Michigan State not only tied a program-record, but it also tied a Big Ten record with former Gopher Simone Kolander (against Stetson on 8/22/14) and Penn State's Ali Krieger (against Bucknell on 9/17/03).

"This recognition for April is well earned. She has been dynamic and impactful for us all season, and her performance this past weekend highlighted that," said head coach Stefanie Golan. "The numbers she put up in just 36 minutes of play shows what she is capable of long term for our team."

Bockin's four assists and one goal against Michigan State came in just 36 minutes of play on the pitch. She added one assist against Michigan in the game on the Big Ten Network on Thursday, to bring her total to five for the weekend.

Bockin now is second in the Big Ten in assists this season with seven, just one behind the Big Ten leader.

The award is the third career Big Ten weekly honor Bockin has been awarded, with her first two being Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors back in 2015.
