Bacon Earns B1G Weekly Honors

ROSEMONT, Ill. - Minnesota sophomore Sarah Bacon earned her first career Big Ten Women's Diver of the Week award, as announced by the conference office Wednesday afternoon.

Bacon captured a first place finish on the 1-meter springboard at the Tennessee Diving Invite, beating the field with a score of 327.90. Bacon edged out Arkansas' Brooke Schultz by 2.2 points, follow a strong score of 52.80 on dive 4033B in the sixth round. The victory marks back-to-back first place finishes on the 1-meter board for Bacon following a first place finish at the inaugural Minnesota Diving Invite back on Nov. 9.

Competing on the 3-meter board, Bacon tallied the Gophers highest finish in fourth place with a score of 324.10.

The Maroon and Gold return to the boards Saturday, Jan. 13 as they host Denver prior their Big Ten meet against Purdue and Northwestern on Jan. 26-27.
