MINNEAPOLIS - Minnesota swimming and diving are set to welcome Purdue and Northwestern for a Big Ten double-dual meet on Friday Jan. 26 and Saturday Jan. 27. The weekend meet marks the final regular season meet before both squads head in to championship competition.
GOPHERS IN THE POLLS
In the latest TYR/CSCAA Top 25 polls, the women rank as the No. 18 team in the nation while currently posting a 7-1 dual record. The men come in at No. 24 with a 5-3 dual record. As for the CollegeSwimming.com rankings, the women come in at No. 13 in the nation while the men rank 26th.
A FULL HOUSE
Five Gophers have yet to drop a race in their respective events this year. Senior Conner McHugh remains perfect in the 100-yard breast and 200-yard breast going a combined 12-0 in races this season. Junior Bowen Becker extended his winning streak to five in the 50 free with a first place finish against Denver. Freshman Cameron Kelley has captured first place finishes in the both 1650 free races the Gophers have swam in this season, having recorded a NCAA "B" time of 15:30.15 back at the Minnesota Invitational. Senior Danielle Nack is a perfect in the 100-yard fly with a season-best time of 51.79 which ranks ninth nationally and is the best swim in the Big Ten this season. Sophomore Tevyn Waddell continues to dominate the 100-yard back with six first place finishes and holds a season-best time of 52.39.

LAST TIME OUT
Both the men's and women's swimming teams picked up non-conference wins against Denver at home. The women came out on top by a score of 196-104, while the men edged the Pioneers 195-105.
UP NEXT
The Maroon and Gold begin championship season next as the women travel to Ohio State for their Big Ten meet Feb. 14-17. The men stay in their native pool inside the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center as they host the Big Ten meet Feb. 21-24.
