Final Stats

MADISON, Wis. -- Minnesota won its 11th straight game over Wisconsin with a 71-61 victory Wednesday night at the Kohl Center in Madison, Wis.

The win streak is the longest for the Golden Gophers in the series with the Badgers and is their longest active win streak against one team. Additionally, Minnesota (17-5, 6-3 B1G) has won five straight in Madison.

Sophomore Gadiva Hubbard led all scorers with a game-high 22 points, tied for her second most this season. It matched the 22-point effort she had to open the season against Lehigh, and trailed only the season-high 25 points she had at North Carolina on Nov. 29. She was 9-of-19 from the floor and 4-of-9 from 3-point range.

Senior Carlie Wagner added 20 points of her own and is now just 10 away from 2,000 points in her career with 1,990. She made six 3-pointers, including four alone in the third quarter, to record her 40th career 20-point game.

Junior Kenisha Bell came close to recording the sixth triple-double in program history as she finished with 12 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.

Minnesota never trailed and led by as many as 17 points, shooting 40.6 percent from the field and making 10 3-pointers. The Gophers held advantages of 23-4 in points off turnovers and 11-0 in fast break points.

Leading 15-12 with 1:10 to play in the first quarter, the Golden Gophers blew the game open with a 14-0 run over the next 4:50 and never looked back to complete a regular season sweep of the Badgers (9-15, 2-9).

Wisconsin never got closer than eight points, the latest of which came with 1:09 to play in the third quarter with Minnesota leading 51-43. The Gophers responded with eight unanswered points as play moved to the fourth quarter to put the game away.

The Gophers return to the court Sunday with a matchup at Iowa. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
