Richardson Selected For Tropical Bowl

Steven Richardson has accepted an invitation to play in the FBS All Americans Tropical Bowl on Jan. 14 in Daytona Beach, Fla.

The game will be contested at Daytona Beach Municipal Stadium and will be streamed online at FloFootball.com those who subscribe to the service.

Richardson played in 48 career games for the Gophers and totaled 103 tackles, which included 28.5 tackles for loss (eighth all-time in school history) and 12.5 sacks (11th all-time in school history). He also broke up three passes, forced five fumbles and recovered four fumbles.

The Tropical Bowl is in its third year and has featured a Gopher in each game. Former Minnesota defensive ends Hendrick Ekpe (2017) and Theiren Cockran (2016) previously competed in the showcase.
