Duo Receives Weekly B1G Awards

The Big Ten Conference has announced that senior Samantha Seliger-Swenson and freshman CC McGraw have garnered weekly Big Ten honors, announced today by the league office. Seliger-Swenson received her fourth Big Ten Setter of the Week accolades, while McGraw was named Co-Freshman of the Week.
Seliger-Swenson, a 5-foot, 11-inch setter, averaged 13.50 assists per set and produced four aces as she helped the team hit .307 in a pair of wins over No. 7 Illinois and Northwestern. On Friday against the Illini, Seliger-Swenson had three aces and 41 assists. On Saturday, she produced another 40 assists and an ace as the Gophers hit .345. During the Northwestern match, Seliger-Swenson became the only setter in all divisions of NCAA to hold over 5,000 career assists. Her 5,011 career assists moved her to fifth in school history, and the most by a Gopher setter in the 25-point rally-scoring era (2008).
CC McGraw, a 5-foot, 9-inch libero, averaged 5.00 digs per set in a pair of wins over No. 7 Illinois and Northwestern last weekend. On Friday against the Illini, McGraw tied a match-best 14 digs, two assists and a kill. She followed that with a match-best 16 digs against Northwestern Saturday.
Minnesota continues its four-match home stand when it hosts Iowa and No. 5 Nebraska, Friday and Saturday night. Both matches are slated for 7 p.m., starts at Maturi Pavilion. The Gophers and Hawkeyes match will be streamed on BTN Plus, while the Minnesota vs. Nebraska match is on Big Ten Network.
