Gophers Head to Colorado This Weekend

The Minnesota women's golf team returns from a two-week break and will head west to tee off at the Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate in Highlands Ranch, Colo. this weekend.
The Gophers begin competition on Friday with their first 18 holes, and will play the second and third rounds on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
Minnesota is joined in the field with host Denver, Cal Poly, Central Arkansas, Colorado State, Idaho, Kansas, Nebraska, Nevada, Northern Colorado, Ole Miss, Tulsa,UC Davis, UTSA, Washington State and Wyoming.
Senior Muyu Wu, sophomores Grace Kellar, Joanne Free and Kate Lillie and freshman Karen Zhang will represent the Gophers in the tournament.
Last time out, Minnesota competed in the ANNIKA Intercollegiate in Lake Elmo, Minn. The Gophers were led by Kellar, who shot a 221, five-over par and tied for 40th place. Wu finished just behind Kellar, and finished with a 223 in a tie for 47th.
Free finished the tournament with an 11-over par 227 and placed 52nd, and Lillie rounded out Minnesota's contingent with matching scores of 228 and shares of 53rd.
Zhang will appear in her second collegiate tournament in Colorado and her first as a member of the team lineup. She competed as an individual at the Gopher Invitational earlier in the season, and tied for 64th (78-73-80—231).
