Matthew Rosen, Teddy Frid, Jackson Wellenstein, Jonathan Tharaldsen, Evan Ferlic, Temi Ogunrinde, Kiley Sabin, Rachel Schow, and Patty O'Brien will lead the Gophers.

MINNEAPOLIS – The Golden Gopher men's and women's track & field program has named its captains for the 2018-19 season, the first year with both teams under the direction of Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Matt Bingle.

Matthew Rosen, Teddy Frid, Jackson Wellenstein, Jonathan Tharaldsen, and Evan Ferlic join Temi Ogunrinde, Kiley Sabin, Rachel Schow, and Patty O'Brien to make up the Gophers' leadership corps this season.

"This group will be super important in that they have to work together and have to be able to communicate well with me and with the coaching staff so that we're doing a good job with the merger and meeting their needs and blending as much as we need to," Bingle said. "They also need to create their own visions separate from each other. They have a voice, and I want to hear it."

Men's Captains

"On the men's side, we're excited about the group that was elected by their team," Bingle said. "Moving forward, they're going to have a huge impact on the culture of this program for a long time to come, and I think they're excited about the impact that they can have on the team and the program. I'm excited to work with them. I know they're super excited about the coming year and what we can do and what we can develop as a team."
