Bockin Named to Google Cloud Academic All-District Team

MINNEAPOLIS – Senior forward April Bockin was named to the 2018 Google Cloud First Team All-District 6 as selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA). The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
The Kinesiology major adds the academic honor to her list of postseason accolades after being named the Big Ten Forward of the Year. Bockin scored all three of the Gophers goals in the Big Ten Tournament as the Gophers captured their second tournament title in three seasons. Bockin was named the Offensive Player of the Tournament.
Bockin's team-leading 13 goals also leads the Big Ten and ranks 15th in the NCAA. Bockin currently ranks eighth all-time in Minnesota history with nine game-winning goals, tied for sixth all-time with 25 assists and ninth all-time in career points with 77.
The Gophers are set to face Auburn in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday, Nov. 9 at 3 p.m. The match is set to air on the SEC Network+.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third team (if necessary) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
