Gophers Place 11th At FSU

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The University of Minnesota women's golf team opened its spring season this weekend, traveling to the Florida State Match Up where the Gophers took on a competitive field at the Don Veller Seminole Golf Course.
Senior Sabrine Garrison took home a top-25 finish as she ended the tournament among a tie for 24th (73-69-77-219) at 3-over-par. Junior Muyu Wu ended the tournament tied for 43rd (77-73-77-227) at 11-over-par. Two strokes behind was freshman Grace Kellar (75-76-78-229), who tied for 46th.
Freshmen Kate Lillie (78-78-77-233) and Joanne Free (82-72-82-236) rounded out the Gopher lineup, tying for 54th and 60th place, respectively.
Junior Maggie Heggerston tied for 54th as well (80-75-78-233), with the junior competing as an individual.
South Carolina won the team title with a score of 848, while the Gophers were 11th (303-290-309-902). The Gamecocks' Ainhoa Olarra was the medalist with a final score of 206.
The Gophers will continue their season in just over three weeks, traveling to California to take part in the Meadow Club Ladies Intercollegiate on March 5-6.
