MINNEAPOLIS - Four Golden Gopher women's hockey alums took part in the NWHL All-Star Weekend at TRIA Rink in St. Paul, Minn., over the weekend.

Amanda Leveille ('16) served as a team captain, and Jordyn Burns ('15) of the Buffalo Beauts and Kate Schipper ('16) of the Minnesota Whitecaps played for Team Leveille. Winny (Brodt) Brown ('03) served as one of the NWHL All-Star Weekend coaches as well.

Team Ott, captained by Brittany Ott, defeated Team Leveille by a score of 8-6 in front of a sold-out crowd at TRIA Rink, the brand-new training facility of the Minnesota Wild in St. Paul, on Sunday morning.

The NWHL also held an outdoor morning skate and its annual Skills Challenge as part of the All-Star Weekend. Team Leveille and Team Ott were joined by two dozen girls' hockey players from the U.S. and Canada at the outdoor rink in Rice Park before Team Leveille edged Team Ott, 4-3, in the Skills Challenge on Saturday. Schipper took part in the fastest skater competition.
