Rain Delays Saturday's Conclusion to 10 a.m. Sunday

FORT WORTH, Texas ââ'¬" Riley Smith drew a walk with two outs in the top of the third for the Gopher Baseball team before rain postponed the conclusion of the Saturday's game two against No. 9 TCU to Sunday morning.
After a delay of two and a half hours, the rain lightened enough to start Saturday's game for at least the first two innings, enough for TCU (9-6) to take a 4-0 lead over Minnesota (13-7) before the rain worsened yet again to bump the game's conclusion back a day.
Despite two hits by the Gophers in the first inning, the Horned Frogs struck on the scoreboard first, scoring three runs on three hits in the bottom of the inning, taking advantage of a misplay on the Minnesota infield during an attempted rundown to advance the runners each a base and eventually score the latter two runs. TCU used another Gopher error to its advantage in the second when Coby Boulware hit a triple to left center before being awarded an extra base when the throw into the infield bounced into the Horned Frogs' dugout.
After a second rain delay of nearly an hour, it was determined the field was unplayable, and the teams opted to resume play on Sunday morning at 10 a.m. The series finale will then take place about 30-40 minutes following the conclusion of the game. That game is still scheduled to be broadcast on Fox Sports Southwest Plus.
