MINNEAPOLIS -- Golden Gopher alumna Noora Raty was named the CWHL Goaltender of the Year when the Canadian Women's Hockey League recognized its top players during the 2017-18 CWHL Awards Show Friday evening.

Raty, a 2017 CWHL draft pick, led the Kunlun Red Star to the Clarkson Cup final. She led the CWHL with a 1.60 goals against average and a .944 save percentage. Raty also posted six shutouts in 20 games while recording a 16-3-0 overall record. Among with her success in the CWHL, Raty won bronze with Finland at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang, South Korea.

Raty was one of three finalists for the 2017-18 Goaltender of the Year award, joining Erica Howe (Markham Thunder) and Emerance Maschmeyer (Les Canadiennes Montreal) in contention for this year's honor.

In four years with the Gophers, Raty was a three-time All-American and a three-time Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award finalist. A four-time All-WCHA honoree, Raty set Minnesota career records with 114 wins (114-17-8), 43 shutouts, and .946 save percentage, and she ranked second in program history with a 1.34 career goals against average. Raty led the Gophers to back-to-back NCAA national championships in 2012 and 2013.

Raty and the Kunlun Red Star look for their first Clarkson Cup in franchise history this Sunday when they take on fellow Gophers alum Megan Bozek and the Markham Thunder at Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto. Game time is set for 11 a.m. CT, and the game can be seen live on Sportsnet or the SN NOW app.
