It was a wrestling clinic for Gopher wrestling alumnus Logan Storley at Bellator 197 in St. Louis, Missouri last night. Storley moved his professional MMA record to 8-0 after the unanimous decision over Missouri native Joaquin Buckley (8-2).

"I feel great, and at the end of the day, I got the win," Storley said after the fight. "The biggest thing tonight was when I stepped into this cage, it felt like home. I wasn't worried, I wasn't nervous. I went in there, and did my job. I listened to my corner, and got the `W'."

Storley was never in danger of losing his undefeated record. The wrestler turned fighter smothered Buckley over three rounds to pick up the win by scores of 30-27, 30-26 and 30-26.

The Webster, S.D. native had a gameplan heading into the fight, and Storley executed it to perfection. Storley wasted no time in charging across the octagon to take down Buckley. Storley unleashed flurries of punches from the top position, and returned Buckley numerous times as he attempted to get back his feet where he was a talented fighter.

Storley wrapped up his career at the University of Minnesota in 2015 as a four-time All-American. Storley wrestled at Webster (S.D.) High School prior to coming to Minnesota, the same high school as Gopher Wrestling, MMA and WWE legend Brock Lesnar. Storley earned the Junior Hodge Trophy as a six-time state champion at Webster with a career mark of 262-3, making him one of the hottest wrestling prospects in the country when he signed with the Gophers. Storley was immediately inserted into the Minnesota lineup as a true freshman, finishing sixth, fourth, third and fourth at the NCAA tournament during his four seasons in the Maroon and Gold, wrestling all four years at 174 pounds.

Now 3-0 with Bellator, Storley will continue to advance on the welterweight ladder with his next fight not yet official.
