MINNEAPOLIS -- The University of Minnesota men's track & field program returns to action this weekend with a trio of meets on the West Coast -- the Mt. SAC Relays, the Bryan Clay Invitational and the Cardinal Classic.
Frid Underway at Bryan Clay Invitational
One Gopher competitor is already undersay at the Bryan Clay Invitational as Teddy Frid kicked off the weekend in the decathlon. Through five events, Frid sits in third among his decathlon group with 3,841 points.

Last Time Out - Tom Cat Twilight
The Gophers picked up seven event titles last Thursday at the Tom Cat Twilight, host by St. Thomas in St. Paul. Minnesota winners included John Uchytil (pole vault), Ben Gucinski (high jump), Mason Roomes (long jump) and Teddy Frid (110-meter hurdles). Three unattached competitors also picked up wins -- Cory Mensah (100 meters), Kaleb Siekmeier (discus) and Grant Fuller (400-meter hurdles).

Six Gophers Earn All-America at NCAA Indoors
The University of Minnesota sent six competitors to the 2018 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships with all six bringing home Second Team All-America accolades. Teddy Frid led the way with a 10th-place finish in the heptathlon while Ryan Lockard earned his second career All-America nod with a 12th-place showing in the high jump. The Gophers closed out the meet with a 12th-place finish in the 4x400 meter relay with Matthew Baker, Jonathan Webb and Ben Psicihulis earning their first career All-America nods while Jackson Wellenstein earned his third career accolade.

Lucas Reps 'U' at NACAC Championshipp
Minnesota freshman Hunter Lucas finished 22nd in the Men's U20 eight-kilometer race at the 2018 NACAC Cross Country Championships last weekend in El Salvador. Lucas clocked a time of 27:08.0 after qualifying for the race with a fourth-place finish in the Junior Men's 8K at the USA Cross Country Championships. The Gophers have now been represented at two-straight NACAC Cross Country Championships with Nick Rink finishing eighth last year in Boca Raton, Fla., as the U.S. Under-20 Men's Team claimed a gold medal.
'U' Breaks Ground on T&F Facility
The University of Minnesota officially broke ground on a new outdoor track & field venue on Friday, Oct. 20. The new stadium will feature a nine-lane track with three chutes, full field event hosting capabilities, and a design to allow sprints and certain field events to be held in multiple directions to take advantage of wind conditions on competition days. These features, along with permanent and event-based seating, provide the flexibility and the amenities to host a wide variety of meets.
