Eight Gophers To Pursue NFL Dreams

Eight former University of Minnesota football players will take their next step in their playing careers after signing a free agent contract or accepting an invite to an upcoming mini camp tryout with an NFL team.

The Gophers who are headed to the next level are Adekunle Ayinde, Jonathan Celestin, Merrick Jackson, Kobe McCrary, Steven Richardson, Ryan Santoso, Nate Wozniak and Garrison Wright.

According to reports, Richardson signed a free agent deal with the Los Angeles Chargers, while Santoso agreed to a contract with the Detroit Lions and Wozniak with the New Orleans Saints.

Ayinde, McCrary and Jackson will all attend an upcoming mini camp with the Minnesota Vikings, while Celestin will head to a tryout with the Houston Texans and Wright is off to tryout with the Cleveland Browns.
