Warm-Up Lap: Q&A with Heta Tuuri

MINNEAPOLIS -- Senior Heta Tuuri already ranks among Minnesota's top high jumpers in program history, holding the indoor school record at 1.80m (5-10.75) and ranked third among all-time Gophers outdoors with the same mark.

A native of Lahti, Finland, Tuuri tied for fourth place in high jump at the 2018 Big Ten Indoor Championship and has earned five top-eight B1G finishes in her career already. Tuuri is a two-time NCAA West Prelim qualifier in high jump and tied for 17th in high jump at the 2016 NCAA Outdoor Championship after tying for first place at the NCAA West Prelim.

The 2018 indoor season saw Tuuri compete in high jump at six meets and made one appearance in triple jump. She cleared a season-best 1.79m (5-10.50) for first place at the Power Five Invite and again to tie for first place at the Iowa State Classic.
