Lindaman Named NFCA All-American

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Sophomore catcher Kendyl Lindaman has been named a NFCA All-American earning second team as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Wednesday evening.

Lindaman becomes the sixth Gopher to be a two-time All-American and fourth to earn the honor in back-to-back years.

Known for her power at the plate, Lindaman matched her single-season best 20 home runs in the NCAA Seattle Regional with a long ball to left center in an elimination game against Texas. The 20 long ball mark ranks sixth in the nation and tied the Minnesota single-season record which she set last year.

The reigning Big Ten Player of the Year, boasted a .375 batting average while collecting 56 hits and crossing home plate 52 times. Accompanying an impressive batting average was her team leading slugging percentage (.832), on-base percentage (.532), RBI (55), doubles (tied at 13) and walks (55).

A threat at the plate which most teams pitch around, Lindaman is fifth in the nation in walks which is also ranks second on the Minnesota single-season list. Her now 118 career walks ranks third all-time in program history.

Along with earning back-to-back Big Ten Player of the Year honors she was named to the All-Big Ten First Team, Big Ten All-Tournament team, Great Lakes All-Region First Team and was named to the USA Softball Player of the Year Top 50 Watch List.
