AUSTIN, Texas - Adding to her season list of accomplishments sophomore Kendyl Lindaman was named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America Division I Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA).
Lindaman earns third-team honors as it marks the second-straight year that Minnesota softball has had an Academic All-American honoree after Sara Groenewegen earned third-team honors last season. It is also the third time in four years a Golden Gopher has earned the prestigious academic honor.
The Ankeny, Iowa native has a 3.95 grade point average and is currently undeclared. She also earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in her career.
The two-time All-American had another standout year on the field while earning back-to-back Big Ten Player of the Year awards. She was also named to the NFCA All-Region First Team. Accompanying an impressive .375 batting average was her team leading slugging percentage (.832), on-base percentage (.532), RBI (55), doubles (tied at 13) and walks (55). She also matched the Minnesota single-season home run record of 20, a feat she set last season, with a long ball in the Seattle Regional.
