The head coach of the University of Minnesota women's golf program will be part of a historic field this weekend, as Michele Redman will take part in the inaugural U.S. Women's Open in Chicago.

Redman is among the 120-player field that will hit the links at the venerable Chicago Golf Club for the event, sponsored by the United States Golf Association. Her group, which includes fellow American players Janie Sirmons and Rosie Jones, will tee off from hole 10 at 12:21 p.m. on Thursday to begin their first round of play.

"It's an amazing opportunity to be able to play in the inaugural Senior Women's Open," Redman said. "Chicago Golf Club is an exclusive course and loaded with lots of history."

The U.S. Senior Women's Open will take place through the weekend, with national television coverage on Saturday and Sunday from 3-5 p.m. on FS1. For more information on attending the event and live scoring coverage, please see the USGA's tournament website.
