The University of Minnesota men came up short against USC in tonight's dual meet in Los Angeles, California as they earned 109 points to USC's 153. The women's team went 1-1 on the night as they too lost to the Trojans (114-146) but handily outscored the Oregon State Beavers 218-44.

Chantal Nack had a successful day for the Gophers as she claimed three event wins over the course of the meet. She finished first in the 200-yard Freestyle with a time of 1:47.12 and followed it up by racing the 500-yard Freestyle in 4:50.59 to take the top spot. Her final event win of the night came in the 200-yard Individual Medley, which she swam in 2:00.12.

Bowen Becker recorded a pair of first-place finishes for the men with his wins in the 50 and 100-yard Freestyle races. He swam a 19.89 and a 44.22 respectively to earn his event wins. Kilgallon won the 1000-yard Freestyle with her time of 9:54.78 and claimed second place in the 500-yard Freestyle, touching the wall behind teammate Nack. McHugh (52.62) narrowly lost out to USC's Carsten Vissering (52.29)  in the 100-yard Breaststroke, but beat out the Trojan powerhouse by over four seconds in the 200-yard Breaststroke to win the event in 1:58.30.

Tim Sates won the men's 200-yard Freestyle after swimming a 1:40.28. Tevyn Waddell came in first in the 100-yard Butterfly with her time of 54.37. Lindsey Kozelsky took first place in the 100-yard Breaststroke after racing a 1:01.02, and the women's A relay team of Zoe Avestruz, Kaia Grobe, Kate Sullivan and Katherine Wagner won the 200-yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:35.23 to round out the event wins for the Gophers.
