Dance Team Claims 19th Jazz National Championship

The University of Minnesota spirit squads just returned from a successful 2019 UCA & UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship in Orlando, Fla. Highlighting the weekend was a 19th National Championship in the Jazz Division for the dance team.
The Gophers also brought home a number of second place finishes including in the Pom and Cheer Game Day Divisions. Minnesota has finished first or second in Pom in each of the past 10 years and has finished top-two in Jazz in the past four years.
Goldy Gopher continues to be a favorite at the Championship. He took a second place finish after back-to-back National Championships in the Mascot Division. He also took second in 2016.
Minnesota also took home top-10 finishes in the Cheer and Coed Cheer Divisions.
