Lawrence Signs Professional Running Contract

MINNEAPOLIS -- University of Minnesota alum and former Gophers captain Charlie Lawrence will step down from his role with Gopher Athletics at the end of the month after signing a professional running contract with the Hanson-Brooks Distance Project in Rochester, Mich.
A native of Foley, Minn., Lawrence was a two-year captain for the Maroon & Gold, earning a pair of Second Team All-Big Ten honors in cross country as well as two NCAA All-Region accolades. In the classroom, he was a four-time Academic All-Big Ten selection (earning the award twice in cross country and twice in track). Lawrence earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota in 2017 with a double major in sport management and business and marketing education. He added a master's degree in sport management from the 'U' in 2018.
