Six Alums Named to USA Hockey Roster

Six Golden Gopher alumnae are among those chosen to represent the U.S. in the 2019 Rivalry Series with Canada.
MINNEAPOLIS -- University of Minnesota alumnae Megan Bozek, Hanah Brandt, Dani Cameranesi, Amanda Kessel, Gigi Marvin, and Lee Stecklein have been named to the U.S. Women's National Team that will competed in the 2019 Rivalry Series against Canada, USA Hockey announced today. The Rivalry Series runs Feb. 12-17 with the first two games taking place in London, Ontario and Toronto, Ontario, before the series finale in Detroit, Michigan.
Brandt, Cameranesi, Kessel, Marvin, and Stecklein all return to Team USA after winning gold at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games while Bozek, a 2014 Olympic silver medalist, returns to the U.S. Women's National Team after last competing for the Red, White, and Blue at the 2018 Four Nations Cup with Brandt, Cameranesi, Kessel, and Marvin.
The 22-player roster includes athletes from nine different states. Minnesota leads the way with five representatives followed by Massachusetts with four, and Illinois, New York and Wisconsin each with three. Alaska, Idaho, Maryland and Vermont all have one representative. Bob Corkum is serving as head coach of the 2018-19 U.S. Women's National Team.
The Rivalry Series begins with two games in Ontario, kicking off on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 6 p.m. CT in London, Ontario before the teams meet again on Thursday, Feb. 14 at 6 p.m. CT in Toronto. Little Caesars Arena in Detroit will host the final game of the series as part of Hockey Week Across America on Sunday, Feb. 17, with the opening faceoff set for 11 a.m. CT.
Tickets (ranging from $15-$35) for the game in Detroit are now on sale and can be purchased at 313Presents.com, Little Caesars XFINITY box office and Ticketmaster.com. To purchase tickets by phone, fans can call 800-745-3000.
