Emily Brown is the WCHA Defenseman of the Week after her three-point effort against St. Cloud State.
MINNEAPOLIS -- Junior defense Emily Brown has been honored as the WCHA Defenseman of the Week after her three-point effort in Minnesota's home sweep over St. Cloud State last weekend.
Brown picked up an assist on Minnesota's third goal in the team's game one 3-0 win before recording a pair of goals to lead the way in the team's 4-2 win in game two. She gave Minnesota a 1-0 lead in game two and then regained the lead for the Gophers at 2-1 midway through the third period after the Huskies tied the game early in the third period.
Brown's two-goal effort marked her first career multi-goal game; her three-point series also tied a career-best for the Blaine, Minn., native. Brown now has four goals on the season, matching her season total for goals in both her freshman and sophomore year in just eight games as a junior.
