Maroon Madness! Fans Encouraged to Wear Maroon on Nov. 9

Minnesota fans encouraged to wear Maroon on Nov. 9 when the Gophers host Penn State in a battle of 8-0 teams.
You can't have Maroon without Gold.Â
The No. 13 University of Minnesota football team hosts the No. 5 Penn State Nittany Lions at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9 in a battle of two 8-0 teams. The matchup will mark just the second time in Big Ten history in 40 years that two teams with at least an 8-0 record will face one another.Â
The Gophers will be wearing Maroon jerseys and pants for the game and will don their Gold chrome helmets.Â
Minnesota is encouraging fans attending the game to wear all Maroon as well for this historic matchup. Every fan will receive a Gold rally towel when they enter the stadium courtesy of Cub, Coca-Cola, and the Star Tribune to match the team's look for the battle of the unbeatens.
Minnesota is 8-0 this year for the first time since 1941 and 5-0 in the Big Ten for the first time since 1961.Â
