Gophers Place 14th at Princess Anne Invitational

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Minnesota women's golf team finished 14th at the Princess Anne Invitational, which concluded Sunday just off the shores of the Atlantic Ocean.
The Gophers (302-295-295—892) matched their second round team score, led by junior Joanne Free (72-72-74—218) who tied for 31st at 8-over-par. Four shots back was classmate Kate Lillie (75-74-73—222) as she tied for 48th.
Sophomore Karen Zhang (78-74-73—225) matched Lillie for the low Gopher round of the day as she finished tied for 60th. Freshman Grace Curran (77-75-77—229) placed among a tie for 70th place while junior Grace Kellar (84-75-75—234) finished 77th.
LSU and Virginia Tech shared the team title with a score of 843, with the Hokies' Emily Mahar (69-69-65—203) earning medalist honors.
The Maroon and Gold return to action in two weeks as they travel to their final fall tournament, the Cardinal Cup hosted by Louisville on October 18-21.
