The University of Minnesota Women's gymnastics team took part in their third annual Homecoming scavenger hunt this past weekend as Gopher football took on Illinois at TCF Bank Stadium. Although the weather was less than ideal, the four teams did not let that stop them as they went on a quest to be crowned the 2019 Homecoming Scavenger Hunt Champions. The four teams, the Smurfs, team Opa, team Black and the Yellow Jackets, were tasked with different challenges that would take them through the tailgate lots, into the stadium and if they were lucky, in the pregame tunnel.
The Teams:

The Smurfs - Casey Betts, Halle Remlinger, Lexi Montgomery, Maddie Quarles and Ali Sonier.
Team Opa: - Paige Williams, Andrea Stancik and Ona Loper.
Team Black: - Ivy Lu, Maya Albertin, Tiarre Sales, Carson Cronin and Mary Korlin-Downs.
The Yellow Jackets: - Kristen Quaglia, Kate Grotenhuis, Mallory LeNeave, Hannah Willmarth and Lexy Ramler.

Challenges:

Video proof of giving a random Gopher fan a hug. Get video proof of a fan saying they will come to a Gopher women's gymnastics meet this year.

Video of someone telling a member of the security staff that they are doing a great job.

High five a football player(s) as they come into the stadium
Get a selfie/picture with a member/group of another Gopher sports team. Selfie/picture with Mark Coyle.

Selfie/picture with a member of the cheer team or member of the band.

Walk around the concourse and give three random people high fives
Do a cartwheel at Gopher Garden (bonus if you can get another person to join you).

Video of someone sitting down/joining a tailgate without asking.
Video of someone going up to a tailgate and asking for food. Video doing the rouser with fans/students in one of the tailgate lots.

Selfie/picture with a Gopher Athletics alum.

Selfie with Goldy.
Highlights:

Last year, only one team was able to get a picture/selfie with Mark Coyle. This year, three of the four teams (team Opa, the Yellow Jackets and team Black) were able to snag a picture with the Athletic Director, and earned some bonus points because President Joan Gabel was in it.

Somehow team Opa and the Yellow Jackets finessed their way into the tunnel during pregame to get high fives from Gopher football, and P.J. Fleck for bonus points. Team Black still managed to get high fives from the football team by utilizing the student section.

Champions:
The Yellow jackets proved to be victorious at the end of the day with a total of 113 team points. Not too far behind them was Team Opa with 103 points and Team Black with 102 points. Since all three of these teams managed to get a picture/selfie with Mark Coyle and President Joan Gabel, the deciding factor was that the Yellow Jackets picked up a selfie with Goldy to add 10 more points to their team score. The Smurfs finished with 63 team points.
