MINNEAPOLIS -- RV/RV Minnesota (1-1) continues its season-opening six-game homestand Thursday afternoon at 12 p.m. when it hosts Milwaukee (1-1) in the team's annual Field Trip Game. The game will be available to view online on BTN Plus and can be heard on the Gophers' radio home, 96.7 FM KFAN Plus.

THE OPENING TIP-OFF
• The Golden Gophers are looking for their second straight win after taking care of Vermont, 90-58, on Sunday. Four Minnesota players reached double figures in the win, including Jasmine Powell (19), Destiny Pitts (16), Taiye Bello (14) and Gadiva Hubbard (12).

• Powell came off the bench to lead Minnesota with a career-high 19 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the floor and a game-high four assists. It was the highest-scoring performance from a Gophers non-starter since Pitts scored 20 during the third game of her freshman year on Nov. 16, 2017.

• In addition to her 14 points (on 6-of-6 shooting), Bello had 10 rebounds for her 16th career double-double. Three of the rebounds were on the offensive end, moving her past Ashley Ellis-Milan (345) for third in program history with 347. In addition, her career rebound total of 730 now sits ninth in program history as she climbed past Carol Ann Shudlick (727) and Ellen Kramer (728).

• Minnesota is receiving votes in both the latest AP Poll and the USA Today Coaches Preseason Poll. The Gophers were ranked No. 23 to start the year in the AP Preseason Poll. It was the fifth time in program history they had been ranked in the AP Preseason Poll and the first since they were No. 16 in 2005-06.

PROMOTIONS
• Thursday is the team's annual Field Trip Game with free admission for Minnesota schools (grades K-8).

• The Minnesota men's gymanstics team will perform at halftime.

FACING MILWAUKEE
• Thursday will mark the fourth meeting all-time between Minnesota and Milwaukee. All three previous meetings have taken place at Williams Arena.

• Following a loss in the first ever meeting between the schools in 1997, the Gophers have won each of the last two contests with the Panthers by an average score of 81.5 to 66.5.

• The most recent matchup came in the first round of the 2016 WNIT in an 87-80 win for Minnesota. That game was notable for Rachel Banham's 48 points, which still stand as the most scored by an individual college player, women's or men's, in Williams Arena history, and set the record for most points in a WNIT game.

• For the first time since the 2014-15 season, Minnesota has no Wisconsinites on its roster. Conversely, Milwaukee has two Minnesotans on its squad in sophomore Megan Walstad from Apple Valley (Eastview HS) and senior Lizzie Odegard from Minnetonka (Minnetonka HS).

• Odegard's parents were both student-athletes at Minnesota. Her mom, Susie (Piram), played basketball from 1984-88 and averaged 6.4 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, while her dad, Brent, was a pitcher on the 1986 Minnesota baseball team. Odegard's sister, Annie, is the administrative intern for the Gophers this season.

• The Panthers are 1-1 this season, defeating UW-Parkside, 84-77, on Nov. 6 and falling at Purdue last Sunday, 68-55. Three players are averaging double figures for Milwaukee, led by Jamie Reit (15.5), Brandi Bisping (14.0) and Tadri Heard (12.5).

PITTS CLOSING IN ON 1,000 CAREER POINTS
• With 992 career points, Destiny Pitts is 8 points away from becoming the 25th player in Gophers history to reach 1,000 points in her career.

• Thursday marks her 68th career game. If she were to reach the mark then, it would be the ninth fewest games needed to get to 1,000 points in team history. The record belongs to Lindsay Whalen and Laura Coenen, who both did it in 51 career games.
