University of Minnesota head women's golf coach Michele Redman announced Wednesday the addition of Kira Wolf (Mattoon, Ill./Mattoon HS). Wolf signed her National Letter of Intent this week and will join the Gophers program next year.
"We are looking forward to welcoming Kira to our team in the fall of 2020," Redman said. "She was runner up to our current freshman Grace Curran in the Illinois State Junior in 2018. We know Kira works very hard not only in the classroom but also on the golf course. We are looking forward to having her bring that energy to our team. We expect her to be able to make an immediate impact next fall."
Wolf is a four-time state tournament qualifier in Illinois, finishing in the top-25 each time including a sixth-place finish her freshman year. On the Mid-American Junior Golf Tour circuit, Wolf has earned eight top-10s, including medalist honors at the 2017 MAJGT University of Illinois Open. This past summer, Wolf tied for seventh at the MAJGT Donald Ross Classic.
The Minnesota women's golf team returns to action in February, traveling to the Moon Golf Invitational in Melbourne, Fla., from Feb. 17-18.
