Touchdown Tuesday: Johnson's First Against Miami

2/12/2019 5:32:00 AM | Football

Tyler Johnson had nine catches for 133 yards and three scores against the RedHawks.

Throughout the offseason we will take a look at one of Minnesota's touchdowns from the 2018 season in what we are calling Touchdown Tuesday. To start, we flash back to last September when the Gophers hosted Miami (Ohio) on a 91-degree day at TCF Bank Stadium.

With the game tied 0-0 in the first quarter, freshman quarterback Zack Annexstad sidearmed a pass to Tyler Johnson, who then did the rest to give Minnesota an early lead. Johnson would add two more touchdown receptions on the day, as the Gophers would beat the RedHawks 26-3. Johnson finished the game with nine catches for 133 yards and three scores as the Gophers improved to 3-0 last season.
