Former Gophers grappler Brett Pfarr ('17) took home the bronze medal at 86kg at the Granma y Cerro Pellado in Havana, Cuba.

Pfarr dominated the first two matches with first period technical falls over two Cubans in their home country. After losing by narrow 4-0 decision to Yurieski Torreblanco, a returning Pan-Am silver medalist, Pfarr once again won by technical fall, this time 14-4.

He finishes 3-1 at his first international competition after also taking home bronze at the Dave Schultz Memorial, his first senior level competition.

Pfarr was joined by Gopher and Minnesota Storm teammate Jayson Ness ('10) who advanced to the semifinals before dropping the bronze medal match.
