Gophers Greats Head to Freestyle World Cup

Two former Gopher greats, Zach Sanders and Tony Nelson, are headed to Yakutsk, Russia, for the Freestyle World Cup on March 16-17.
Sanders ('12), a four-time All-American, is also a volunteer coach for the Gopher wrestling team. He'll comete at 57kg after a career with the Gophers at 125-pounds.
Nelson ('15), a two-time NCAA Champion, last competed internationally at the Alans International Tournament where he placed in the top-five. Nelson, a heavyweight legend, will compete at 125kg.
They will be coached by Minnesota Regional Training Center (RTC) coach Dustin Schlatter, also a former Gopher NCAA Champion.
Hayden Zillmer, who trains at the RTC, will also be competing at 97kg alongside Sanders and Nelson at the World Cup.
