On the final day of the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center, one more Gopher has secured his spot at the NCAA meet. Jeremy Moser will join teammates Nick Yang, Alan Leblang, Sarah Bacon and Kristen Hayden as Minnesota diving qualifiers at the 2019 NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas later this month.

Moser punched his ticket with a first-place finish in the men's platform competition. His 12-dive score of 706.25 was 5.00 higher than the second-place finisher. Moser's performance today allows him to compete in the 3-meter competition as well thanks to his top-12 finish yesterday. Leblang came in third with his score of 689.10 and Yang finished eighth after earning 643.95 points. Both Leblang and Yang have qualified for all three events at the end of the three days of competition.

Maxim Royzen and Duncan Lester also competed in the platform finals, finishing in 13th and 15th with their respective scores of 580.05 and 525.75.

Hayden notched the highest finish for the women on the platform. Finishing third with a 12-dive score of 549.30, she has added all three diving events to her NCAA schedule. Morgan Justus wrapped up the Zone D diving meet with a 13th place finish  and a score of 471.80 while Mariam Khamis placed 14th with a 466.15.

Next up for Gopher diving is the NCAA meet. Sarah Bacon and Kristen Hayden return to Austin, Texas on March 20-23 to compete in the women's NCAA meet. Nick Yang, Alan LeBlang, and Jeremy Moser will make the same trip later that week as the Gophers travel to the men's NCAA meet on March 27-30.
