Gophers Finish Seventh at Juli Inkster Invitational

FAIRFAX, Calif. - Senior Muyu Wu posted her best career finish, tying for fifth as the Juli Inkster Invitational at Meadow Club concluded Tuesday afternoon.
Wu (71-71-74ā216) was among a three-way tie for even par as she recorded her highest career tournament finish. Joining her in the top-20 was sophomore Kate Lillie, who tied for 16th place at 5-over par (69-75-77ā221). Classmate Joanne Free was three strokes behind, among a tie for 29th place (72-77-75ā224) at 8-over par.
Freshman Karen Zhang had the best tournament finish of her career, tying for 46th at 12-over par (78-78-72ā228), including the low Gopher round of the day. One stroke behind was sophomore Grace Kellar, who tied for 53rd (73-78-78ā229) to round out the lineup.
Individual competitors sophomore Jessica Lee (77-76-79ā232) and freshman Alayna Eldred (74-87-82ā243) placed 59th and 70th, respectively.
The Gophers placed seventh, their highest team finish of the season, at 20-over par (285-301-298ā884). Rutgers won the team title at 4-over-par, with the Scarlet Knights' Harriet Allsebrook earning medalist honors at 9-under par (67-70-70ā207).
Minnesota returns to action on April 12-14 at the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational hosted by Ohio State.
